West Ham sources have apparently told GiveMeSport that they ‘admire’ Marco Silva as they weigh up what to do with David Moyes, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

It’s no surprise that other Premier League sides are impressed with the job that Silva has done since he returned to English football nearly three years ago. The Portuguese head coach guided Fulham to the Championship title in his first campaign at Craven Cottage before taking the Whites to tenth in the Premier League table and an FA Cup quarter final on their return to the top flight. His success this season, despite the loss of prolific striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, in guiding the Cottagers to a first League Cup semi-final and twelfth in the table is arguably even more worthy of praise.

West Ham weighed up a move for Silva last summer – as well as Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha – but opted to keep faith with Moyes after he won the Conference League. Luring the 46 year-old away from SW6, where he put pen to paper on a new contract until 2026, will be much tougher now.
