Reports from Italy claim that Fulham have furthered their interest in Bologna’s star Scottish midfielder Lewis Ferguson.

Italian website Calciomercato carries an article today claiming that the Whites and Nottingham Forest have kept in close contract with Bologna and Ferguson’s representatives since making enquiries about the 24 year-old’s availability during the January transfer window.

The former Aberdeen midfielder, who has been promoted to wear the captain’s armband at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara during a stellar season, has also attracted interest from AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli but the Calciomercato report insists Ferguson is ‘fascinated’ by the possibility of playing in the Premier League. Calciomercato suggest that Bologna, who paid just £3m for Ferguson’s services two years ago, would want in excess of £17m to sell the midfielder, who has scored six times in 27 games as Thiago Motta’s side have surged into the Champions’ League places.
