Tom Cairney has told the Footballers’ Football Podcast that Fulham’s defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers ranked as one of the ‘most frustrating’ games of the season.

Marco Silva’s side were beaten 2-1 at Molineux last weekend despite dominating the first half and passing up several glorious chances to take the lead. The Fulham captain, introduced as a second half substitute, scored an own goal and told the BBC podcast:

I feel like it was one of the most frustrating games of the season. We dominated away from home in large parts of the game, we were looking for our third straight win and the injuries they got and picked up during the game, I think it’s fair to say that they ended it with a much weaker side. They had no Neto, Cunha, Hwang Hee-chang, a devastating front three that weren’t on the pitch.”
