Luis Boa Morte will leave Fulham at the end of the season to become the new head coach of Guinea-Bissau.

The Portuguese winger, who made 250 appearances for Fulham between 2000 and 2007, returned to Craven Cottage to become first team under coach under Marco Silva when his compatriot was appointed as Scott Parker’s permanent successor in the summer of 2021. Boa Morte, who began his coaching career in the Fulham academy, has become an integral part of Fulham’s success as the Cottagers were promoted as champions from the Championship, finished tenth in their first season back in the top flight and now twelfth with nine games to go.

Boa Morte will take his second managerial post following Fulham’s final game of the season at Luton Town in May.
