Calvin Bassey will be available for Fulham’s trip to Sheffield United on Saturday, according to the Evening Standard.

The former Ajax centre back left Nigeria’s camp after missing the Super Eagles first friendly against Ghana through injury and returned to Motspur Park for Fulham’s medical team to take a look at the knock. There were fears that the Whites could be missing their in-form centre back for some portion of the Premier League run-in, but initial tests suggest that Bassey should be fine to feature for Fulham at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

The 24 year-old defender has forged a miserly partnership at the heart of Marco Silva’s defence with Tosin Adarabioyo since returning from the African Cup of Nations and his availability will be a massive boost for the Whites as they hope to build on an outstanding win over Tottenham Hotspur at Craven Cottage before the international break.
