AC Milan have placed Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo towards the top of their list of summer transfer targets – believing the soon to be out-of-contract centre half is a perfect pick up on a free transfer.
Italian sports paper Gazetta dello Sport suggests that the former Manchester City centre back is one of the ‘hottest names’ on Milan’s list of targets, especially as he will cost nothing as the Rossoneri plan for a prudent summer with a reduced transfer budget. The report claims that Adarabioyo’s availability on a free has levered him above the Brest defender Lilian Brassier, who will command a hefty transfer fee this summer.
Fulham haven’t given up hope of persuading Adarabioyo to remain at Craven Cottage – even though the 26 year-old has turned down two contract offers already. The Cottagers have tabled ‘a bumper’ contract offer to keep him at the club over the past fortnight and believe his strong relationship with head coach Marco Silva and his increased playing time since the turn of the year give them a good chance of avoiding his exit this summer.
Appreciate Marco knows a lot more than me but I would not be disappointed if he went. Getting a better quality replacement might not be as easy as just wishing for it of course.
I’m probably in this camp as well. Of course, the key is having players who want to play for us – that’s vital. Tosin’s got the talent to be a top quality performer in this set up, but he does have infuriating mistakes in him (like Saturday). It’s just very frustrating that if he does go, we’ll get nothing having given him his Premier League opportunity.
