Marco Silva has revealed that Fulham will wait to see how Willian comes through tomorrow’s training session before deciding whether the Brazilian can feature for the Whites at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The 35 year-old winger was substituted at half time during last weekend’s defeat against Aston Villa at Craven Cottage – having clutched the back of his hamstring in the closing stages of the first half. The Fulham head coach told his press conference ahead of the trip to Manchester United:

“We’re still assessing Willian. All the other players, they are probably going to be available, even Willian, but we have to do a little bit more [assessment].”

Silva confirmed that Armando Broja has recovered from the illness that ruled him out of the 2-1 defeat by Villa last Saturday.

“Broja wasn’t well and wasn’t in a condition to be involved in the game but he’s okay. Armando has his ambitions. When we sign a player on deadline day, we expect for him to be a really important piece in our squad, if not, we will not move in that direction.

He was aiming to come here and play football matches but he arrived one day before Burnley and we had only some quick meetings with him. He’s working hard. Different clubs, different styles of play. It takes time and we can see his quality on the training pitch.”

The Albanian will likely have to wait for a first Fulham start after Rodrigo Muniz scored his four goal in three Premier League games last weekend – and the former Flamengo forward earned praise from Silva.

“Rodrigo got his chance and stepped in and showed his quality. He’s had spells in the season where he hasn’t scored, or injuries have stopped his run but now he’s playing well and I’m really happy for him.”
