The Independent’s Sonia Twigg is reporting that Armando Broja will join Fulham on loan for the remainder of the season after protracted negotiations with Chelsea over the proposed transfer.
The 22 year-old is poised to have a medical at Motspur Park rather than move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in a welcome development for Marco Silva, who had made the Albanian international his number one target during the January transfer window. Fulham’s need for attacking reinforcements heightened after Raul Jimenez limped out of Wednesday’s stalemate with Everton after injuring his hamstring.
Chelsea, who initially valued Broja at £50m and then wanted a £5m loan fee, will receive under £750,000 from their neighbours for the deal – which will reduce to nothing at all if he starts more than half of Fulham’s remaining Premier League fixtures. He will eligible to make his Fulham debut at Burnley on Saturday if the deal goes through tonight.
Is there an option or is it just a straight loan?
Is there an option to buy?
Looks like a straight loan.
£4m for a six month loan is pretty ridiculous. Definitely taking advantage of our desperation.
In my opinion this could be a great signing. In some matches, especially against the “smaller” teams we were desperately in need of Mitro’s hulking presence up front. Broja has many similarities to him, not very quick and defenitely less technical than Jimenez but his physique is very intimidating. I totally approve, lets give him time, I really think he will help our cause.
He’s big and he comes from eastern Europe. Let’s hope the similarity doesn’t end there.
If he’s Silvas number one target then I would have thought he would have aimed a lot higher. As usual the Khan’s have no ambitions to improve our team,we have been linked to nearly every player in Europe, there are plenty of good and cheaper options in the championship with good sell on value. As long as TK has his job we are going nowhere he will never learn anything.
might have been some point if they’d signed him at the beginning of January. By the time he’s bedded into the team now, assuming he’s better than Muniz, he’ll have two and a half months maximum at his best. But lets welcome him and give him as much support as we can.
I hope I’m wrong but to me he hasn’t got it, his record is not good and 4m for 17 games plus I guess his wages is outrageous. Silva commented that this or any deal should have been finalised at the beginning of the month and they could have featured in the two cup games TK dragging his feet again.
