Fulham have this afternoon confirmed that promising goalkeeper Marco Underwood has signed a scholarship with the club.

The teenager made his under-18 debut in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Southampton at Motspur Park following a successful trial with the Whites and joins the club from Woking.

Underwood told Fulham’s official website this afternoon:

“I’m absolutely delighted. This is what I’ve been working towards my whole life and I now have the opportunity to join this great club, so I’m just so happy to be here. I grew up playing grassroots football and I’ve been all around the academy system. I’ve been on lots of trials, with some working out and some not but thankfully this one has worked out and I’m so proud and thankful for the opportunity.

I’m just looking to fulfil my full potential and become a professional footballer like all the rest of the lads, but it’s in God’s hands and hopefully one day that’ll be possible. I’d like to thank my friends and family and all the coaches that have supported me along the way because without them I would have struggled. I’m massively appreciative to all those people.”
