Alex Iwobi rued the ‘fine margins’ of the Premier League after Fulham’s crushing late defeat at Liverpool.

The Whites led 3-2 at Anfield with ten minutes to play but were beaten after conceding stunning two goals in the space of 76 seconds to substitute Wataru Endo and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Iwobi, who followed him his first league strike for Fulham by playing a part in Harry Wilson’s opener, admitted plaudits counted for little without the points to accompany them.

The Nigerian international told the Athletic’s Peter Rutzler:

“Of course, it’s good to have good performances but we need to turn them into results. That’s what pushes you up the table. It’s all good saying you performed well, but we need results. It’s fine margins.”
