Fulham are considering a formal offer from Atletico Mineiro for striker Rodrigo Muniz, according to Sky Sports News.
The Brazilian club made a concerted effort to bring the Brazilian forward back to his homeland in the summer but the 22 year-old was persuaded to remain in London by his family. Atletico’s August offer was understood to be around £4.3m, which was some way short of the Cottagers’ £7m valuation. But Brazilian press reports claim that Atletico – and other Brazilian clubs – had received encouragement to revive their interest ahead of the January transfer window.
Muniz, who has scored six times in 40 appearances since moving to Craven Cottage from Flamengo in August 2021, started Fulham’s last three fixtures after Raul Jimenez was sent off at Newcastle United earlier this month. He has scored just a single goal this season, which came in the League Cup at Ipswich Town, and could be sold as Marco Silva prepares to bring in at least one new striker during the January window.
Take money and run. How is he valued at £7m? He’s dross.
Sell him. No debate. I’ll play up front on Sunday. I guarantee you I’ll score exactly the same number of goals he would have.
Yes !! Muniz and Vinicious can leave in Jan !! Time is up as We need a striker,a winger a mid ,or we coyld be in trouble here !!
Muniz is ,I am sure a lovely bloke, but clearly is ,at best ,a championship player.
Of course his family want him to stay in London.
But you may as well have me playing for all the good he does.
So bye bye mate.
Still quite young, but surely does not have enough talent to be playing at this level. We should sell and invest the money in a replacement.
Why hasn’t my comment been shown?
I think we are all in agreement, but more importantly what are they doing about bolstering the current squad, there are so many areas that need strengthening. If we do lose those players rumoured to be wanting out then I fear it’s the Championship for us next season. We manage to go from feast to famine every season. Don’t know who is responsible for the continued uncertainty but someone is, and it isn’t the loyal fans.
I’ll help him pack…
