Matchwinner Willian insisted Fulham deserved all three points after his pair of penalties finally put Wolverhampton Wanderers to the sword at Craven Cottage this evening.

The Brazilian winger scored twice from the spot in the second half to end Fulham’s four match winless streak, although the stoppage-time award of a penalty for a foul on Harry Wilson proved particularly controversial.

Willian told FFC TV after the final whistle:

“Oh my God! After a difficult month, we finally got three points. We know how difficult it is to play in the Premier League with so many difficult matches and opponents. I think we did well. We tried from the beginning to press high. When we didn’t have the ball, we set up well. At the end, we deserved the three points.”

When asked how he kept so calm from the penalty spot, Willian answered:

“The first one when I stopped a bit, I saw the keeper moving early. I just played it to the left side of the keeper. The second one was a bit more difficult because when I stopped he didn’t move. I needed to put more power in the shot, but it was a good one. You have to relax at that moment, not get nervous – and I think that was what I did.”
