Fulham and Nottingham Forest are poised to do battle for Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson, according to reports from Italy this morning.

The Scottish midfielder has enjoyed a whirlwind eighteen months in Serie A and the consistency of his performances this season have seen him linked to the likes of Juventus and Lazio. While the Italian giants are considering other targets in mind for their January acquisitions, Tuttosport claims that Fulham and Forest are prepared to make firm offers for Ferguson ahead of the transfer window reopening next month.

Ferguson, who has won ten senior caps for his country, has three league goals to his name this term after hitting the net seven times for Bologna last term as Thiago Motta’s side have continued their impressive progress to sit fifth in the table only three points off the Champions’ League places. Tuttosport suggest that the Hamilton-born attacking midfielder, who has been watched by Fulham’s scouts since the start of the season, would be available for around £13m.
