Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicoia claims that Fulham are very close to completing a deal to sign Brazilian international Andre from Fluminense.
In a video posted to his Youtube channel, the well-connected Nicoia offers his take on the latest developments in the Andre transfer saga, with various reports claiming that Fulham are the frontrunners to sign the tenacious midfielder during the January transfer window. He says that Fulham are tabled an offer of around £26m to sign the Copa Liobertadores winner, which has impressed both the club and the player.
Nicoia explains that Andre is intrigued by the Fulham project and is interested in working with Marco Silva, partly owing to his strong relationships with a number of Brazilians in the Craven Cottage first-team squad. He believes that the deal could be concluded shortly after Andre finishes his international commitments in the coming week – and the only thing likely to alter the player’s destination at this point is a bigger offer from another English club.
That appears unlikely with Manchester United and Liverpool, both previously linked with interest in a transfer, looking elsewhere for January signings. Other reports have revealed that Fulham’s chief executive Alistair Mackintosh has personally flown to Brazil to lead the negotiations for the Cottagers.
