Chelsea will turn down Fulham’s approach for striker Armando Broja, according to the Evening Standard.

Fulham had placed the Albanian international, who scored against them at Craven Cottage in October, high on their list of potential signings in January as Marco Silva sets his sights on improving his striking options having failed to replace Aleksandar Mitrovic in the summer. The Whites had made an enquiry as to Broja’s availability but Chelsea will reject a possible loan move as Broja has no interest in leaving Stamford Bridge in the new year.

Broja returned from a serious injury to win a penalty that earned Chelsea a draw against Manchester City earlier this month and is targeting a place in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up as a challenger to Nicolas Jackson now that he has recovered from a knee injury. The striker turned down serious interest from West Ham and AC Milan in the summer to fight for his place at Chelsea and is not looking to move on.

That means that Fulham’s hunt for attacking reinforcements will continue – with Silva seeking another option up front having rotated Raul Jimenez, Carlos Vinicius and Rodrigo Muniz throughout this season.
