Fulham centre back Tim Ream is “not really thinking about age” after starting his sixteenth season in professional football.
The American international is back home in St. Louis this week preparing for the United States’ friendly against Uzbekistan, which is followed by a meeting with Oman in St. Paul, Minnesota four days later. The 35 year-old retierated his desire to play international football for as long as possibe:
“I’m just kind of playing and living in the moment, just enjoying doing what I’m doing. I’m not, I’m not really thinking about age. I set goals for myself every season. I set longer term goals to try to get to another World Cup, try to be able to play in a Copa America next summer.
I just think being able to enjoy what you’re doing. As you get older most people’s bodies start give out. Their mind starts to wander. And for me, I’m just trying to enjoy everything, try to take it all in, and do as much and play as much as I possibly can.”
Oh Captain, my Captain!!
I m sorry to say but it’s starting to show. Ream always gives his all, but lately it hasn’t been enough at this level. Premier league forwards have a lot of pace, unlike our own forwards.
Sorry Tim, you were caught out plenty of times on Saturday and your lack of pace is obvious. He was on high last year, but Old Father Time catches up on everyone and that includes Tim. Players like Palhinha , give players like Ream more time and without a DM, he and the team will struggle.
