Harrison Reed admits he was ‘buzzing’ after signing a four-year contract extension at Fulham.

The popular midfielder put pen to paper on a new deal alongside his engine room partner João Palhinha and he revealed that he always wanted to remain at Craven Cottage – despite interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton late in the summer transfer window.

Reed told Fulham FC TV:

“I’m buzzing to get it over the line. It’s something we’ve been working on for a short period, but I’m really happy to put pen to paper. I made it clear from the first day that, for me, my future was here, and if the club matched that then let’s get something done. Thankfully, the club’s ambition aligned with mine, so I’m really happy and looking forward to the future.”

I absolutely love it here. The first day I walked in I felt like it was a special and somewhere that me and my family could call home for sure. We’ve had a lot of success, we’ve had ups and down, but I feel like the trajectory’s the club is on, we’re building something really special.

It’s something that I wanted to get done. I wanted to be on the journey with the club. With the manager here, the ambition of the club, the feeling coming in every single day and putting the shirt on, playing in front of the fans at the Cottage is something that I don’t want to stop. I’m absolutely delighted to have that extra four years and I can’t wait for what we’re building.”

Reed, who reached 150 appearances for the Whites in the defeat at Manchester City before the international break, believes Fulham can build on the success of their return to the top flight having finished tenth last term under Marco Silva.

“Last season for me was one of my best seasons in my career, to be honest. To find that level of consistency and to keep doing things to keep myself in team in that starting eleven is something that I’m really proud of. It was an amazing season for the club. All season we were pushing for those European places really, we obviously fell short and it is something that we are looking to build on. Listen, this season, we want to improve on the last. Hopefully, I can get myself in that team and keep finding that consistency.”
