Birmingham City boss John Eustace saluted Jay Stansfield’s ‘outstanding talent’ after the young Fulham forward scored his third goal in six games since moving to St. Andrew’s on loan last night.

The Tiverton-born 20 year-old blasted Blues in front at top-of-the-table Preston North End within forty seconds of the start of the second half and, even though Eustace’s side left Deepdale with nothing to show for their endeavour, the City head coach was happy to wax lyrical about his special striker.

“He is an outstanding talent. We know he can play in a number of positions. He took his goal fantastically well. It was a great move and a great ball from Koji (Miyoshi). It’s something we have been working on. We have good footballers in the team and tonight we showcased that we can actually play football as well.”
