Fulham have joined fellow Premier League sides Chelsea and West Ham United in the race to sign Montpellier forward Elye Wahi, according to reports from France.
Montpellier have put a £35m price tag on their coveted French under-21 international, who scored 19 goals in 33 games for the Ligue 1 outfit last season. The French side’s president Louis Nicollin confirmed he was in no rush to sell the 20 year-old forward having rejected a £24m bid from the Blues, who would likely loan the young talent to their feeder club Strasbourg.
French radio station RMC, who quoted Nicollin as saying that if there was no acceptable bid between 20 and 25 August he would be available for Montpellier’s first team, listed the Whites as one of a number of suitors for Wahi alongside their London rivals and Eintracht Frankfurt.
I cannot see us paying that kind of moner for someone who has not played in the UK
Just a column filler, “fake news” as Trump would say.
