Marco Silva confirmed after Fulham’s dismal derby defeat to Brentford that Aleksandar Mitrovic will be joining Al-Hilal – and said the Serbian striker forced his exit from Craven Cottage.
The Fulham head coach told his post-match press conference:
“He was not in the squad list because he got injured in the last game. About his future, he’s on his way to leave the club. I got information before the match and now the confirmation from the club after the match that he’s on his way to leave the club. Both clubs have got an agreement.
He forced everything to leave the club. He wanted to leave. Until the moment that we got a financial agreement, it was up to the club to decide. I don’t know [about the precise fee] and even if I knew, financial stuff is not for me to comment about.
If you ask me is it normal? No. Should football players behave in this way? No. Easy answer. He forced it, but I’m not saying if I’m disappointed in him. Everything of my opinion I told him myself in private. We want four or five players to sign before the finish of the market. We are going to do our best [to replace Mitrovic]. We have to find the right player. If not, we are going to face the Premier League with the players we have here. We have to invest.”
I hope fans remember how he left this club and don’t welcome him back ever. Terrible behaviour from a so called professional
No loss as long as we have Marco. Look at the facts he has been carrying a recuring injury since the world cup. So good riddance to a man of low character, no honour or decency and possibly a limited future. We get a load of money and he gets to explain to his wife why she is living in a society that the value of women is so low . Marco has played this extremely well he is a man of honour and decency and I am very glad he is our manager. Let us, the players and the Kahn’s get behind him and support him in another excellent season.
I’m afraid this is the beginning of the end for this era of Fulham. We will be lucky to avoid the bottom three without Mitrò.
This is an opportunity to spend money and take this club to the next level. Take this money, add to it! Back Marco, or he will be gone too. Buy some quality players so Fulham can take the next step. Kahn’s you didn’t buy this club to be a yo yo club, use this opportunity to make this club even better, the future is now!
I am a proud FFC fan for over twice Mitro age so I know about a few top players
leaving us and we are still FFC so he leaving will not destroy us, Marco gave him an
opportunity so this is his way of saying thanks. FFC will not be relegated he is one
player and a team is a squad and we do have that, COME ON FULHAM.
I feel for all at Fulham after all they have invested in Mitrovic. Bearing in mind that we took him from Newcastle reserves and supported him to become a player of some repute. His goals will undoubtedly be missed but some of his behaviour will not. It’s time to move on as this has been coming for weeks and surely no supporter is really surprised at this outcome. Let’s use the fee to bring in a couple of young strikers that our fantastic manager can bring on as other clubs have also lost players they would rather have kept. A warning to all other clubs is that despite signing a player to a long contract is no guarantee that he will honour it. Fulham football club are bigger than any player and in supporting them for over 50 years I can assure you that we will be ok. COYW
Jack you truly are a prat. No player is bigger than a club, and we will evolve without mitro. We already played a 1/3 of last season without him
Thanks John & Ferny you proper supporters when the going gets tough the tough
gets going no room for weak hearts they ready to turn their back if you are in the trench. COYW.
