Fulham academy star Luke Harris is poised to join League One Exeter City on loan, according to the Sunday Mirror’s sport news editor Darren Witcoop.

The two clubs reportedly agreed a deal for the teenager to spent the season at St. James’ Park earlier this summer and Harris, who has made five first-team appearances for Fulham, was not involved in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Everton. The Welsh creative midfielder made his senior debut in the League Cup at Crawley Town last August before being handed a first Premier League appearance as a substitute in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa at Craven Cottage two months later. He also came off the bench at Manchester City and Crystal Palace and started the 3-2 FA Cup third round replay win at Sunderland. Harris has continued to feature for Fulham’s under 21s whilst training with the senior side and his development has seen him fast tracked into Rob Page’s senior Welsh squad, although the 18 year-old has yet to make his international debut.

Fulham are keen for Harris to play regular first-team football this season and are prepared to hand one of their brightest young prospects to Exeter after Jay Stansfield’s successful return to the Grecians last year. The classy playmaker could complete his switch to the South West this week, although City face a race against team to try and get him registered for Tuesday night’s trip to Portsmouth.
