Fulham are in discussions with Monaco about concluding a deal to sign their left back Ismail Jakobs, according to Teamtalk.

Marco Silva is desperate to bring in cover for first-choice Antonee Robinson before the transfer window closes and has reportedly made the Senegalese international Jacobs his top target. The 24 year-old has been a longstanding Fulham target since his days in the Bundesliga with FC Koln and can play both at left back and on the left wing.

Jakobs, who has seen his first time opportunities limited over the past season with Monaco, still managed 41 appearances for the Ligue 1 last season and has experience of playing in both the Europa League and the Champions’ League. He has won eight senior caps for his country and is keen on the opportunity of playing in the Premier League. Fulham did face competition from Nottingham Forest for his signature, but appear to in pole position to sign the German-born defender at present.
