Fulham are in discussions with Monaco about concluding a deal to sign their left back Ismail Jakobs, according to Teamtalk.
Marco Silva is desperate to bring in cover for first-choice Antonee Robinson before the transfer window closes and has reportedly made the Senegalese international Jacobs his top target. The 24 year-old has been a longstanding Fulham target since his days in the Bundesliga with FC Koln and can play both at left back and on the left wing.
Jakobs, who has seen his first time opportunities limited over the past season with Monaco, still managed 41 appearances for the Ligue 1 last season and has experience of playing in both the Europa League and the Champions’ League. He has won eight senior caps for his country and is keen on the opportunity of playing in the Premier League. Fulham did face competition from Nottingham Forest for his signature, but appear to in pole position to sign the German-born defender at present.
If he’s surplus to requirements, a squad addition at best and therefore cheap maybe it’ll happen.
If he’s half decent and a fair price is asked for him then we’ll offer less than hes worth and it wont happen. That’s pretty much where I’ve got to with this window. I hope I’m going to be proved wrong but things don’t feel right to me. I’ve got a bad feeling desperation is going to kick in at some point and we’ll sign dross. I really really really hope I’m wrong.
Why would we want to sign someone who isn’t as good as what we already have? and why would somebody sign knowing they are going to be 2nd choice?
I don’t go along with the policy of buying players no better than what we already have, how does that make the team better?
If he was supposed to be our top target why didn’t we sign him before the season started, i don’t believe it to be true, all we do is talk about who we are going to sign while all the other clubs know who they are going to sign and get on with it, once again we are a joke.
Fulham thrashing around in the transfer market like headless chickens as per usual and when a deal does come close its always Fulham being difficult to seal the deal with when it comes to the transfer.
This os the last place where to keep abreast with the club’s transfers. The targets mention seem to never happen while the actual players signed are always presented late
Maja anyone? Tony’s playing the gambling game again, hoping to get discounted players at the end of the T/Window. The Khans can’t even get the Riverside Stand completed, how on earth, will TK sign good players for the coppers he wants to spend. Piss up in a brewery comes to mind.
Greenwood is free?
I dont like saying it but i think Marcos had enough more sooner than later he will go to Saudi no normal person would put up with TonyKhan he’s not going to go so Marco will us as supporters have put up with The Boy any of us supporters could do his job better and for less money
This is getting ridiculous – I have fears that Marco will just walk away (and i think Palhinha will be gone too). Our last three managers have ‘had problems’ with Boy Khan’s inabilities in the transfer market. It is my opinion that we are being used merely as a money laundering tool (speak to a Man U fan…)
