Fulham are on the cusp of completing a deal to sign winger Adama Traoré on a free transfer, according to the Athletic.

The 27 year-old is poised to join the Cottagers having been released by Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer. Fulham have are looking to strengthen in wide areas having lost Manor Solomon, Neeskens Kebano and Dan James from the squad that finished tenth last season – and have been frustrated in their attempts to complete moves for Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi and the Everton winger Demarai Gray.

Spanish international TraorĂ©, who played with Fulham’s summer signing Raul Jimenez at Molineux, scored fourteen goals and added twenty assists in 194 appearances after joining Wolves from Middlesbrough for around £18m in August 2018. He has previous Premier League experience with Aston Villa, from where he moved to the Riverside Stadium, having starred in La Masia before helping Barcelona win the Copa del Ray in 2015. TraorĂ©, a rapid winger who is most at home on the right flank but can play on the left or as as a central striker, returned to the Camp Nou on loan in January 2022 making 22 appearances for the Catalan club.
