Fulham are on the cusp of completing a deal to sign winger Adama Traoré on a free transfer, according to the Athletic.
The 27 year-old is poised to join the Cottagers having been released by Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer. Fulham have are looking to strengthen in wide areas having lost Manor Solomon, Neeskens Kebano and Dan James from the squad that finished tenth last season – and have been frustrated in their attempts to complete moves for Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi and the Everton winger Demarai Gray.
Spanish international TraorĂ©, who played with Fulham’s summer signing Raul Jimenez at Molineux, scored fourteen goals and added twenty assists in 194 appearances after joining Wolves from Middlesbrough for around £18m in August 2018. He has previous Premier League experience with Aston Villa, from where he moved to the Riverside Stadium, having starred in La Masia before helping Barcelona win the Copa del Ray in 2015. TraorĂ©, a rapid winger who is most at home on the right flank but can play on the left or as as a central striker, returned to the Camp Nou on loan in January 2022 making 22 appearances for the Catalan club.
After all this time wasted trying to sign Hudson Odoi and Gray this just about sums up Tony Khan’s ambition free transfers ?
It goes to Show Fulham will not spend any money so we get a third choice free. Taore looks like a spent force. Hudson Odoi was meant to be done and dusted so what happened
This is seriously underwhelming – I was at the smash and grab win at Boro (last minute Norwood pen) and I think he came on as a second half sub. All speed and no end product. I don’t think that diagnosis has improved since then.
Willian was supposedly a ‘spent force’.
James was mostly all speed and no end product. He can’t be worse than him.
He can’t be coming without Silva’s ok.
I think Traore may surprise a lot of people. Fulham have the knack of getting a 2nd wind out of players, including their current manager who everyone thought did not have what it takes.
I think the way FFC plays will suit Traore… let’s not judge him without a chance
This will put pressure on Everton and Chelsea re price.
Yes dubious end product, but coached by Boa Morte, maybe?
Always had potential. We’re signing him about three years later than we should have.
There was an over-weight ‘spent’ winger once called John Robertson. Under Brian Clough he went on to win back-to-back European Cups.
Like him or not he works hard and could be a surprise give him a chance. Marco and the dead snake could work wonders (I hope)
I have heard his preference is to go to Saudi Arabia where he can earn a lot more. Our club may be second choice.we only want to sign people who want to play for us. He would make a good impact substitute nothing more
He and Raul, forged a good partnership a few years ago… Let’s wait and see…
