Fulham and Chelsea are inching closer towards agreeing a deal for winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Sky Sports News.

Reports this morning are hinting at a breakthrough in negotiations between the SW6 neighbours after a fortnight of intensive talks over a proposed transfer. Fulham have been unwilling to meet Chelsea’s initial asking price of £10m for the England international, with the 22 year-old set on leaving Stamford Bridge this summer, especially as he has less than a year remaining on his current contract.

Hudson-Odoi is keen to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Bjarne Goldbaek, Damien Duff and Willian in reigniting his career at Craven Cottage and Sky Sports stress that personal terms would not be a problem – with the Whites confident of tabling an attractive package to the Wandsworth-born winger. They report that there is a willingness from all parties to ‘get a deal done’ as quickly as possible, with Fulham eager to add Hudson-Odoi to their squad before their trip to Everton on the opening day of the season.

Chelsea want to raise funds for further signings by Mauricio Pochettino and Hudson-Odoi is currently training with club’s under-21s having been deemed surplus to requirements by the new Blues boss when he selected his pre-season party for the tour of America.
