Bayern Munich’s pursuit of João Palhinha appears to have been as shortlived as West Ham’s earlier this summer.

Bild proclaimed the Portuguese midfielder was Thomas Tuchel’s top target this morning but the Bavarians appear to have cooled their interest after learning that the 28 year-old would cost big bucks, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

The cost of meeting Fulham’s valuation of our Portuguese high prince of tackling – as well as buying out his contract, which has a minimum of four years to run – appears to have convinced Die Bayern to look elsewhere for Tuchel’s new number six.
