Manor Solomon, who spent last season on loan with Fulham, is set to become Ange Postecoglou’s third signing as Tottenham manager after the winger agreed personal terms over a move to Spurs.
The Israeli international scored five goals in as many games during a strong spell at Craven Cottage but he has opted to move on this summer – although the proposed deal is still subject to sorting out an ongoing legal wrangle between Solomon’s parent club, Shakhtar Donetsk, and FIFA. The 23 year-old scored five times in 24 appearances for Fulham as Marco Silva’s side finished tenth in the top flight and believes the time is now right to test himself at a higher level.
Solomon’s representatives have struck a deal with Spurs over his contract in north London and his medical should take place at Hotspur Way during the coming week.
So disappointed. With Willian and Solomon gone we are so weak on the left wing. We should go for Harvey Barnes!
Not that worried about this one. Manor had that amazing spell where he scored the 5 goals, but never looked close to doing it again, and was consistently lacklustre whenever he started. Plenty of talent, and still young, so will probably get more consistent eventually, but I suspect his wage demands were high, so it’d cost us quite a bit to find out.
So much for locality . Solomon was well looked after during his injury but expect Spurs can offer him more than we can . Maybe this would help Willian deal over the line . Key is Silva …
Agree with AL on this. At 1 point looked a world beater and then kind of fell away badly. Replacable
We could have had him for 5 million on a permanent transfer. But then we got cheap and took advantage of Shakhtar’s misfortune. This was easy to predict as soon as that happened.
Disappointing but not the end of the world not like Willian who will a massive loss. Please Mr Khan try again with him . Certainly give him a 2 year contact if that is the only issue
This is an urgent issue for Tony Khan to resolve . He has remained very quiet on this subject All these contract issues should have been sorted once our place in the Premiership was confirmed not left until now. Whilst the loss of Soloman alone is very disappointing , we can live with that, the contracts of Willian and Robinson are major issues. Two players we need to keep. Marco Silva wants ambition. I do not see any of that and if we lose him as our Manager, that will be the biggest disaster of all. Also retaining of Jao P is of even of greater importance. Yes we could end up being one of the richest clubs in the Championship in 2024 that is not what our fans wants.
Last summer, once our deal to sign him from Shakhtar morphed into the weird semi-loan, this outcome kind of became inevitable. As others have said I don’t know if it’s wise to be spending ‘starting PL winger’ money to see if “the guy who was a good impact sub for a month last year” turns out to actually BE a starting PL winger.
Our advantage last summer was that we alone (and maybe a few other teams) thought Solomon was worth signing. In 2023 that advantage has evaporated and it’s a money game that the Khan’s seem uninterested (wisely, IMO) in playing that game.
Also, because Solomon is a free agent, all of the money is going to him in a big fat salary. I have no problem with Solomon getting paid, but it seems like the deal he is signing at Spurs would make him FFC’s highest paid player. If we can’t even bring ourselves to sweet talk Mitro into not taking penalties, how are we gonna explain to him that Manor makes 50k more than he does every week?
Watch him disappear into the Spurs Black Hole.
Something tells me Levy will have his hands burnt here on this one with Shakhtar looking to use the courts. Willian is the signing we need to get over the line, a failure here would make Khan junior a little bit ridiculous. Unfortunately, pre-season training is looking rather bare of new signings…. again
This Soloman issue is not a game changerfor Fulham every PL team worked him out too easily. However it shows up our recruitment ability which is pathetic. We need a proper shrewd and knowledgable operator to take control of this important issue and we all bang on about this twice a year.Fulham look mugs again and again.

He undeniably has talent, but I feel he really didn’t fit into the squad
