Sky Sports News are reporting this evening that Aleksandar Mitrovic has told his family that he will never play for Fulham again after the club valued him at £52m and rejected two bids from Al-Hilal.

The Serbian striker reportedly had to be persuaded to join the Cottagers’ pre-season tour of the United States by his agent Pini Zahavi and PFA representatives. Mitrovic is angry that the Whites are playing hardball over his future and the stand off seems somewhat reminiscent of how Louis Saha reacted to being initially denied the chance to join Manchester United in 2003.

Fulham are insistent that Mitrovic, who has scored 111 goals in 204 games, is not for sale and the club’s vice chairman and director of football Tony Khan insisted overnight that the club doing all they can to keep their key players, whilst simultaneously taking a swipe at Saudi Arabia’s human rights record.
