Sky Sports News are reporting this evening that Aleksandar Mitrovic has told his family that he will never play for Fulham again after the club valued him at £52m and rejected two bids from Al-Hilal.
The Serbian striker reportedly had to be persuaded to join the Cottagers’ pre-season tour of the United States by his agent Pini Zahavi and PFA representatives. Mitrovic is angry that the Whites are playing hardball over his future and the stand off seems somewhat reminiscent of how Louis Saha reacted to being initially denied the chance to join Manchester United in 2003.
Fulham are insistent that Mitrovic, who has scored 111 goals in 204 games, is not for sale and the club’s vice chairman and director of football Tony Khan insisted overnight that the club doing all they can to keep their key players, whilst simultaneously taking a swipe at Saudi Arabia’s human rights record.
He wants to calm down. It’s a fair prize could have asked for more strikers hold a high prize. Have a lot of respect for him done a lot for Fulham. And Fulham done a lot for him. He wants to be careful out there and look after his family
if we can receive 50 or 48 million for him go.So much for contracts it appears if a player does not want to play for a club the contract means nothing. This needs to be sorted quickly so we can buy a replacement for a similar sum before the season starts. Player power. We cannot blame Tony Khan for this situation. I am appalled at Mitros attitude after declaring his love and loyalty for the club last season
what a spoilt boy
after Fulham stood by him last year when he was extremely stupid
get what you can for him and find someone who does want to play
the Saudi money train is going to be the death of the premier league
who can compete with the wages being offered and although i don’t like it …i understand that a footballers life is limited and thus they want to take advantage when they can
Bla bla it’s getting boring. The media stirring thing’s up nothing else to talk about. Next it will be his grandma sell her story about Mitro.
Mitrovic needs to be far more professional. He still has 3 years left on his contract and, any striker whose EPL goal ratio last season is 14 goals from 23 games, is easily worth £50 million +.
Fulham allowed him non-playing injury recovery time before the World Cup and supported him fully after his 8 game ban.
Suffice it to say, if the rumour he has refused to play for Fulham again is true, it’s not just disappointing; it’s disgraceful.
So Mr Mitro is nothing but a self centered money grabber and contracts and loyalty mean nothing to him.
What is he going to achieve by going to play in Saudi Arabia….. Absolutely nothing. He will just disappear into obscurity. Biting the hand that feeds you certainly applys to him. Let the sulking git go and give Stansfield and Muniz a shot.
If this is true , then indeed , though disappointing, the best outcome is to get 50 million and finda new striker ASAP. No one is ever irreplaceable , life will go on and hopefully Silva can use his magic to turn a young striker into a star .
Thanks for nothing Mr Mitrovic every Fulham’ fan whose ever loved you as a player you have have now shown the contempt for them and contempt for this great Football Club who stuck by you in bad times you are privileged to play a game that every young fan would play for their club for nothing please go and I hope it goes belly up big tine
So much for loyalty and commitment. I’ve.no idea if we can get another striker for 45 to 50 Mill as good as he was. We stood by him and thought he was good for us ….it turns out not. So he’s a money grabbing so and so and will join a small minority who will earn the money but there carrees will be in doubt.
I hope he knows what he is getting into… l lived in Saudi for 2.5 yrs for work and yes it’s OK for men but not really for females and kids so his family life will change dramactically.
He lost it and got an 8 match ban and we stood by him. Now he has lost it again so much for contracts and loyalty. If true I do not think we should have taken him to America it will not help team spirit. The club apparently have set a fee of 52million and probably would accept around 50 million. In this case I consider Tony Khan is correct in playing hardball. The Saudis can afford it if they want him badly enough. We should set a time limit and force the issue then we urgently need to look for a replacement. With that sum of money we should be able to buy elsewhere someone decent who wants to play for the club. I hope this does not have a snowball effect with Palhinha
He obviously is for sale, because he’s completely useless when he’s unhappy, especially now, but their bids have been stupid. There’s no way we let him go for low numbers like £25m or £30m after the scoring run he’s had the last couple of years, so they need to stump up the proper cash. And in the mean time, Mitro needs to STFU.
It’s ridiculous that he suddenly wants to leave the first season that anyone actually wants him as their no. 9. He is supposed to be the epitome of Fulham and now he is throwing us under the rug for a bag of cash. As for the wanting a lower pricetag, he is worth way more than the £50m the club is asking. He should consider himself lucky to have that price tag
A sad conclusion to what all Fulham fans thought was a marriage made in heaven. No player is bigger than our club so get shot of him before he spreads bad vibes round the place. We found Mitrovic and there is someone out there who can provide similar success. His short fuse was always a constant menace so let him take it elsewhere COYW,
Sadly, money is destroying the game. (An average fan has to work for years to earn what many players do in a week. And all the time they want more.) Mitro has been loyal to Fulham for several years though, even when the club was relegated. If he doesn’t want to play for Fulham anymore, I think it’s best to let him go. I’m more annoyed about Solomon, who left immediately when Spurs called. Even worse would be if Palhinha went to West Ham after just one season. I read that these are “big clubs”, but Fulham not. To me that is simply nonsense.
He always has had a short fuse including the famous incident last season. Nevertheless he has been the darling of the fans. He has now alingñated us all in this outburst and unless he apologizes on the next few days we do not want him at our club. We have quoted a fair price and it is up to his agent to sort out and persuade the Saudis to stump up north of 45 million. In the meantime we should consider suspending him and not pay his wages
We were all looking to having another good season with Mitro spear heading our arrack. His outburst has now made that unlikely . So much for loyalty and contracts. we have every right to demand £50milion but this needs to be sorted quickly. If true and as it stand he would no longer be welcome at our club. His short fuse has always been a problem. I just hope our other stars do not decide to follow suit unless they are allowed to leave for a low price. We cannot blame Mr Khan on this one and hope he stands his ground over the price
Don’t compare him to Saha, who clearly wanted to leave but continued to give everything on the pitch until he went.
Same agent as Solomon, he really enjoys screwing Fulham.
I will always remember him as a top striker but nobody is bigger than the team. His temperament has now let him down badly in the eyes of the supporters, but that’s what happens when the great god Wonga gets involved. Get him gone FFS – we don’t need negativity around the team – let Marco find another hero for us – COYW!!!
Players come, players go…hohum, so what?
Mitro has been fantastic, he doesn’t owe us anything.
Least we forget, Parker benched him for half a season and he could have departed after that but he stayed for another year in the Championship.
Who could have guessed that approaches would be made for players that had a fantastic season 22/23?
Succession planing anyone?
‘The graveyards are full of indispensable men’.
What a Plonker. At his age going to Saudi Arabia does not make sense. I pity his family as this is no place for them to live. He is just plain greedy. In the eyes of the fans he has turned from Hero to zero. We do not want anyone st our club who does not want to play for us.it will also be disrupted to the dressing room. He is under contract and the club are more than entitled to demand 52million but personally I would accept 47million the same as they paid for Neves. Whatever happens we must ensure we hold on the Pahlina otherwise no matter who we sign I fear a relegation battle let’s get Mitro situation sorted quickly. I do not understand why we have taken him to America he should have been suspended without pay
To be honest I’m more disappointed by Jordan Henderson. So much for his support for LGBT rights. Are there any footballers with principles out there?
By the way if the quote is genuine then Mitro is right. He will never play for us again. And none of us would want him too. Talk about ‘hero to zero’.
Suspend the greedy sod and don’t pay him he has 3 years contract still and the FA should make him honour his contract or what is the point of having a contract. I hope TK doesn’t give into the traitor.
I look forward to us scoring some penalties next season. COYW
