Fulham will not be following up their interested in loaning the Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronsen, according to this morning’s Daily Mail.
The Whites had made enquiries as to the availability of the American international, who has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave Elland Road on loan following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship. But the Whites, who would have to pay the 22 year-old’s full salary under the terms of the release clause, have decided not to make an offer for Aaronsen and are considering other targets.
Aaronsen is now in discussions with Bundesliga sides including last season’s surprise package Union Berlin, according to the Daily Telegraph.
I understand the club being hesitant on wages. They’ve had some pretty bad negotiations recently with Mbabu and Diop on high wages compared to the squad average. However, Aaronson doesn’t seem to be on completely outrageous wages for only one season. I think he would put in a shift pressing in the ten. Hoping we keep Silva. I have a bad feeling though…
