Stevenage have signed Fulham goalkeeper Taye Ashby-Hammond permanently after his successful loan last season.

The 24 year-old custodian came through the Motspur Park academy having joined the Whites in 2008 and became a regular in Fulham’s youth sides before gaining senior experience on loan at Maidenhead and Boreham Wood, where he starred in the National League outfit’s run to the fifth round of the FA Cup – which including a sensational display to knock out Scott Parker’s AFC Bournemouth.

Ashby-Hammond kept thirteen clean sheets in 29 games before suffering a season-ending cartilage tear as Stevenage won promotion from League Two by finishing second in the table. He was voted Boro’s young player of the year last term in recognition of his outstanding performances for Steve Evans’ side.
