Reports from Italy this evening claim that Fulham could make a formal offer for AS Roma central defender Roger Ibañez in the next few days.
The Whites have been engaged in negotiations with the Giallarossi’s director of football, Tiago Pinto, over the past few weeks as they considered reprising their interest in Justin Kluivert, whose move to Craven Cottage last summer was scuppered by the Home Office’s post-Brexit work permit requirements. The Dutch winger joined Bournemouth last week but Pinto is still discussing potential transfers with a number of English clubs as he tries to hand Jose Mourinho a substantial summer transfer budget.
Roma Giallarossa reports this evening that Pinto is well aware of Fulham’s interest in Ibañez, who has made 149 appearances in four years with Roma. The Brazilian international has two years remaining on his current contract at the Stadio Olimpico and Roma have identified the 24 year-old as a potential source of valuable funds, with Premier League suitors rumoured to include Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
Fulham, seeking defensive reinforcements following the exit of Shane Duffy and uncertainty surrounding Tosin Adarabioyo’s future, have expressed a strong interest in the former Fluminense centre half and could follow that up with a concrete offer in the coming days after being informed by Roma that Ibañez is available for transfer. The Canela-born defender, who can also operate at right back or as a holding midfielder, was part of the Roma side that won the Europa Conference League in 2021-22 and reached the Europa League final last summer.
Reports from Timbuktu to Tokyo about various players Fulham are interested in signing, but as we approach the end of June, no signings. Zilch, nada. We were safe from relegation with about two months of the season to go, but in time honoured tradition, the owners drag their feet. Why hasn’t Marco Silva been rewarded with the contract he deserves? Where are the signings to take Fulham F C to the next level? All that is coming out of the club at the moment is that first team players don’ t want to renew their contracts. What the hell is going on here, £3,000 season tickets. Whose taking the Mickey?
Well said that man
Sheeesh common sense MS does have a Wife,Kids, and he deserves to switch off for 2 weeks and enjoy well deserved holiday (remember he too has a life)
The CEO/CFO can do things anywhere/time…called the WWW and Zoom/Skype, even the medicals can take place in the players country of origin…crazy but its 2023 dont stress…as fans we cant control anything getting your panties in a knot wont make anything happen before 1st July +
Transfer window opened less than two weeks ago and runs for 10-11 weeks more so calm down. Historically Fulham look for deals and we can only hope this year is a balance with bringing in good players early like ward prowse and holding onto key existing players and then building our squad so the bench has strength rather than simply numbers like last year. Enjoy the ride as ever!
What nonsense written above the transfer window has only been opened 2 weeks some really haven’t got a clue about what’s involved,
