Fulham are contemplating a close-season move for Everton winger Demarai Gray, according to a Sky Sports report this morning.

The Whites have apparently made an enquiry about the availability of the 26 year-old, whose current contract at Goodison Park expires next summer. Everton do hold an option to trigger a twelve-month extension but it remains to be seen whether the former Leicester wide man in Sean Dyche’s long-term plans after the Toffees narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League month.

Gray arrived at Everton from Bayer Leverkusen in a £1.7m deal in July 2021. He has scored twelve goals in 75 appearances for Everton, six of them coming in 36 games last term as the Blues battled against relegation. The Birmingham-born winger came through the St. Andrew’s youth set up, making 78 appearances and scoring eight goals for Blues before signing for Midlands rivals Leicester for a £3.7m in January 2016.

He made fourteen appearances as Claudio Ranieri’s side won the Premier League in his first season at the King Power Stadium and scored thirteen goals in 169 appearances before falling out of favour with Brendan Rodgers and not being offered a new deal. He spent six months in Germany with Leverkusen, scoring once in twelve appearances, and could be on the move again this summer with a number of Premier League sides reportedly interested in his services.

Fulham have been linked with a number of wingers since finishing tenth on their return to the top flight as Dan James is set to return to Leeds United following his loan spell at Craven Cottage and there is uncertainty surrounding the futures of Manor Solomon, currently on a short-term contract with Fulham from Shakhtar Donestsk, and Neeskens Kebano, whose contract expires at the end of June.
