Fulham are lining up a summer move for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, who has become unsettled by Kai Harvetz’s upcoming arrival in north London according to the Sun.
The 24 year-old forward is worried that the German international’s move from Chelsea would push him favour down Mikel Arteta’s pecking order and wants to secure more regular first-team football. Nkietiah, born in Lewisham, came close to leaving his boyhood club last summer but was eventually persuaded to put pen to paper on a four-year deal, reportedly worth £100,000-a-week.
The Hale End academy graduate has scored 32 goals in 131 games for the Gunners but saw his game time restricted by the January signing of Leandro Trossard from Brighton and is worried that Havertz will further diminish his chances of appearing regularly in Arteta’s starting line-up. Fulham, who are seeking striking reinforcements ahead of their second season in the top flight, are linked with offering Nketiah a Premier League lifeline alongside West Ham and Crystal Palace.
Yes, some youth to balance our outstanding experienced players. And the lad has a lot of unexposed talent.
Add Nketiah, Mina, Ward-Prowse, retain Solomon and think ‘Hello Europe’ next year, clear out those who do not wish to extend contracts for the club that brought them to some prominence of their own opinionated importance?
Also would be great to see club change viewpoint; from standing behind left hand post at Hammersmith end from1962 I have witnessed sales of incredible talent to other clubs, the likes of Mullery, Clarke, Marsh, Boa-Morte, Saha, Van der Sar, where if they had been retained for 1-2 season longer, Fulham as a club could have been riding higher than its contemporaries to whom they sold these ‘classy’ players?
Sorry, I’m being selfish.. now in my 70’s I would love to see them playing so called other ‘top teams’ off of the pitch week in-week out, instead of being the nominated boys for a relegation fight pre-season each year.. Its high time this club allowed its wonderful supporters to enjoy an atmosphere thatvthey truly deserve?
