Fulham are mulling over a £10m move for Norwich City defender Max Aarons, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The perennial transfer target is entering the final twelve months of his contract at Carrow Road and is currently preparing for the forthcoming UEFA under-21 championships in Georgia with England. The 23 year-old right back, who was born in Hammersmith, has made 213 appearances for Norwich since breaking into the first team in 2018 having began his career on the books of Luton Town.
Aarons has been one of the most consistent right backs in the Championship for several seasons and won the title with City in 2019 and 2021. The Telegraph says that Aarons is considered capable of proving competition for Fulham’s first choice full back Kenny Tete, who enjoyed an excellent season as Marco Silva’s men finished tenth on their return to the top flight. Both Aarons and the Canaries’ outgoing sporting director Stuart Webber have suggested that a move to pastures new could be on the cards this summer.
From Hammersmith! A move made in heaven, seriously a good back up/competitor at RB. Important to have depth for 50 games a season if we hope to go deep in cups and hold our league position
He would be a good addition and a younger player. Covers us should Tete leave or get injured so let’s go for it.
If Fulham got Aarans for £10m it would be the bargain of the century. He’s a gem of a player who has endure 2 difficult seasons due to the players around him and would be better suited to a team that plays on the front foot. His attitude is spot on and he will continue to improve with the right players around him.
