Shane Duffy has signed a three-year contract with Norwich City this morning, which will become active on July 1st following the end of his short-term deal at Fulham.

The Republic of Ireland international moved to Craven Cottage from Brighton initially on loan at the end of the summer transfer window, but made the switch permanent in January to allow the Whites to bring in another loanee in the shape of Cedric Soares from Arsenal. Duffy made seven appearances for Fulham as Marco Silva’s side finished tenth in their first season back in the Premier League, but his only starts came in the cup competitions.

The centre half told Norwich’s website:

“As soon as I first heard about it [the interest from Norwich City], I’ve been excited. I spoke with the head coach, and some people at the club, and they’ve really made me excited about this opportunity. I know it’s a great club, a lot of Irish connection as well with a few players here and they speak very highly about the club. I’m ready for a new chapter in my career. And I’m excited to help the team get back to the Premier League.”
