Fulham full back Kenny Tete has been rewarded for his outstanding Premier League season by being included in the Netherlands’ provisional squad for the UEFA Nations League finals.

The right back had expressed his disappointment at being overlooked when national coach Ronald Koeman named his previous squad for the last international break in March and will hoping to avoid being one of the players to miss out when the provisional squad is trimmed down to 23 players – as he did four years ago.

The 27 year-old has shone as Fulham have surpassed expectations under Marco Silva by rising into the top half of the Premier League having won the Championship last season. Tete, who has won fourteen senior caps for his country, has become one of the first names on Silva’s team sheet, making 29 Premier League appearances this season. He helped the Whites keep a clean sheet on the south coast on Saturday in a comfortable 2-0 win over Southampton.
