Fulham head coach Marco Silva has been nominated for the Premier League’s manager of the season award.
The Portuguese boss, aged 45, has steered the Whites into the top ten and secured safety months ago in some style – completely confounding the pre-season predictions of another struggle against relegation at Craven Cottage. Silva’s side have registered fifteen Premier League wins and seven league victories away from home, which are both club records. He has insisted that his side will not let up until the end of the season with the Cottagers still targeting a top half finish and setting a new Premier League points record.
Silva, who won the Championship in his first season with the club last year, is up against Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, Aston Villa’s Unai Emery, the Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola and Eddie Howe of Newcastle United for the prestigious award, which is decided by public vote.
