Fulham are one of a number of English clubs linked with a move for Mexican winger Hirving Lozano, who appears destined to leave Napoli this summer.

The 27 year-old, who has won 64 senior caps for his country, is set to leave Napoli on a high with Luciano Spalletti’s side nineteen points clear at the top of the Serie A table and closing in on their first Scudetto since 1990. Journalist Ciro Venerato told Italian radio that Lozano is looking for a new club as Napoli are seeking to impose a tighter salary cap this summer and Lozano believes he is worth his estimated £76,000-a-week salary.

To that end, the former PSV winger has hired an English agency to drum up interest from Premier League clubs. Chelsea, Everton, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Fulham are named as clubs who are monitoring Lozano’s availability but they would face competition from the likes of Sevilla and Villarreal in Spain as well as other sides across Europe.

The major stumbling block may not be the wage package but Napoli’s valuation of Lozano as Gli Azzurri are believed to have slapped a £40m price tag on the man who has scored three goals and added three assists in 25 Serie A appearances this season. With only a year left on his current contract at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, it is unlikely they will achieve that sort of sale – but Lozano certainly won’t cheap.
