Kenny Tete was delighted with both his own outstanding display and Fulham’s fortitude after the Whites claimed a point at Stamford Bridge this evening.
The Dutch international delivered a disciplined defensive display, keeping a number of Chelsea wingers quiet in an enthralling goalless draw as Marco Silva’s side took four points from their neighbours in the space of three weeks. The right back was named player of the match by Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville and was full of pride when he spoke to FFCTV after the final whistle:
“Unbelievable game. Not only from me, but from our back line actually from every single player so I’m really happy to become player of the match. I felt really good today. I think the way we played as a team was also great and I could show my qualities. I think it went well today. It wasn’t easy, you know. I had three or four players on my side, I had to adapt quick. I just tried to win my duels and be defensively. I’m happy that I can help the team with that.”
Tete also saved special words of praise for the Fulham fans who roared their side on to another excellent result and insisted that there was still more to come from his team mates this term.
“I want to thank the fans as well. It isn’t an easy game. It is a derby, it is close to home. The fans were fantastic today – so, thank you. I’m also really happy. I think they deserve it. We are doing really well this season. We want more, this is just to start. There’s more to come.”
Maximum respect to Tete. I thought he wss outstanding tonight. You could feel the love to him from our fans. Great night.
