A delighted Manor Solomon described scoring his first Fulham goal against Nottingham Forest this afternoon as ‘the best feeling ever’.
The Israeli international, who only returned to action last month after five months on the sidelines having suffered a serious knee injury the day after his debut, clinched a crucial three points when he finished a wonderfully worked move in front of the Hammersmith End with a couple of minutes to play.
Solomon told FFCTV after the final whistle:
“I’m really, really happy with this goal. I’ve been waiting for it for a long, long time. When the ball hits the net, it is the best feeling ever.
Nottingham [Forest] were starting to push us and I saw that there were spaces in attack. When we took over the ball, I think Harry got it to Kenny and Kenny gave it to Andreas. I thank to thank Andreas for the ball he gave me it was a great ball. When the ball hits the net, it is the best feeling ever!
[My] first goal for Fulham, first goal in England, in the Premier League something I have always dreamed of and I’m happy that it happened today. I’m looking forward to score more goals, to assist more and help this great team. My last goal was in June for the national team and then I signed for Fulham and I had a long injury, but I’m happy that I’m here again, scoring goals again.
Solomon heaped praise on head coach Marco Silva, insisting he knew what the Portuguese boss could build at Craven Cottage.
“I decided in the summer to join Fulham, I knew what the gaffer would build in this team, what he is planning and what the team will look like. We see this season a dominant team, playing against any rival, face to face. We showed today our quality and our strength today. We had a really positive week. We played very well against Chelsea and won in the FA Cup against a strong opponent in a difficult stadium and we got three points today. We must continue in the same way and keep going.”
