No surprises that Dan has selected Northern Irish midfielder Rodney McAree as Fulham’s cult hero in his latest piece for the BBC Sport website.

McAree was a popular figure but struggled to stay fit during his three years at Craven Cottage – making just thirty appearances and scoring three goals as a result. But he played a key part in the Whites’ Division Three promotion under Micky Adams, writing his name into Fulham folklore with a superb winner on that famous day at Carlisle United in April 1997 that effectively clinched promotion.
