Marco Silva was full of pride after discussing the application of his players following Fulham’s 1-0 win at Leicester City last night.
The success at the King Power Stadium, secured by a superb strike from Aleksandar Mitrovic, was Fulham’s third win in a row since the resumption of domestic football. The result lifts the Whites up to seventh in the Premier League table – level on points with Liverpool.
Speaking during his post-match press conference at the King Power Stadium, Silva said:
“I want to highlight how we started the game. I thought that in the first half, especially the first 25 minutes, we were brilliant. In the first 10 minutes we created two or three clear chances to score. We started the game dominant, playing in the opposition half for most of the time. Then we scored a brilliant goal. It was a great assist from Willian and then a great finish from Mitro.
It was a tough, tough game for us and we expected that because we knew that they’d react after the two defeats and this is always a tough place to come. With their quality, we knew that they could punish us in many ways. After our start, they reacted and they did it really well, pushing us back further than I would like to see the team pushed.
Silva showered goalkeeper Bernd Leno with praise, too:
“He’s been impressive all season and we did everything to have him with us because we knew his quality and we knew what he could add to this football club and this group of players.
He’s a top, top goalkeeper and he’s performing at a very high level in my opinion, which is not a surprise. All the fans should enjoy having a goalkeeper like him in their team.”
What team we have here ! Everyone’s got there job to do and they are doing it magnificently. Our results are amazing ! If there is one thing we could improve on and I think it’s a matter of time and that the form of Harry wilson$, he’s a little thr pace. Maybe it following the world cup. I’m sure he’ll be back soon scaring all defenses, and setting up Mitro time after time.
