Fulham’s pursuit of Marco Silva’s top January transfer target has moved closer to completion after Arsenal gave their wantaway right-back permission to talk to the Whites about a move across London.

The 31 year-old, who has made just four appearances for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, is keen to be reunited with Silva after the pair won the Taça de Portugal whilst together at Sporting, and could soon join his former Gunners team-mate Bernd Leno at Craven Cottage. Sky Sports reported this afternoon that Fulham are now discussing personal terms with the Portuguese international, who could compete with Kenny Tete for the right back berth by the banks of the Thames.

Cedric, who has made 59 appearances since joining Arsenal from Southampton initially on loan in 2019, has extensive Premier League experience having previously played 138 games for the Saints. He has fallen down Arteta’s pecking order this term and is keen to gain more regular football.
