Newcastle United defender Dan Burn is looking forward to his Fulham reunion this weekend – having told Talksport that he loved his time at Craven Cottage.
The towering centre half, whose first goal for his boyhood club set them on their way to a place in the last four of the League Cup in midweek, played 69 games for the Whites after signing from Darlington in July 2011. His league debut came in a famous 2-2 draw at Manchester United, where he headed away the majority of the home side’s 81 crosses.
Burn, who was released by Slavisa Jokanovic in 2016, told the radio station:
“I loved it, especially at the start because it was a dream come true to get a Premier League move at the age that I was. It was crazy being around Premier League players when I’d been in the Conference and stuff. I still know a few people there and we’ve been sharing messages and stuff so it will be nice to see them on Sunday.”
One of the many that got away. Turned out to be a poor call by Slavisa.
I always rated him despite his lack of pace. we should have retained him rather than allowing him to go to Wigan
