Kristian Ĺ ekularac says Fulham’s under 21s sent out a statement with their 4-2 win over Celtic in the Premier League International Cup last night.
Steve Wigley’s side came from behind to see off the Scottish giants, with an own goal added to strikes from Luke Harris, Ollie O’Neill and Olly Sanderson securing Fulham’s first win of the competition. The Swiss youth international, a summer arrival from Juventus, told the club’s official website:
“I think it was a great team performance from all the boys and I’m delighted that we got the win in the end. It was a really exciting game which was constantly back and forth and against a really good side, so it was an absolute joy to be part of to be honest. Celtic were solid and try to play out from the back. They had some quality players.
Ĺ ekularac is relaxed about not being a regular in Wigley’s starting line-up in the early stages of his Fulham career.
“It’s normal, I joined just a few months ago and it takes a bit of time to adjust to all the changes on and off the pitch. I have fully adapted now and I am getting along really well with my teammates, the coaching staff, and everyone at the club. With trust and continuity, which is essential for my game, I am very confident about what I can achieve going forward.”
