Goals from Ellie Olds, Lilly Lambird and Georgia Heasman gave Fulham Women a comfortable 3-1 win over the New London Lionesses at Motspur Park yesterday afternoon.

Steve Jaye’s side registered a third consecutive win to recover some consistency after back-to-back league defeats had threatened to derail their push for promotion from the London and South East Regional Football League. It took just eight minutes for the clinical Olds to fire the Whites in front and the hosts were unlucky not to increase their lead before half time. Megalie Mendes saw a terrific strike come back off the crossbar before Heasman hit the post with her own effort only four minutes later.

Fulham doubled their advantage straight after half time when Lambird coolly converted a penalty after Ede Buchele was fouled. Heasman made sure of all three points with twenty minutes remaining by latching onto a marvellous Mendes through ball, beating a stranded goalkeeper and slotting home the third. The visitors kept going despite the scoreline being against them and grabbed a deserved consolation with five minutes to play, but a convincing victory lifts the Whites to fourth in the table, three points behind Millwall.

The Whites will be back in action at Motspur Park next Sunday against Aylesford Ladies, with kick off at 3.30pm.
