Fulham head coach Marco Silva has refused to blame Financial Fair Play for the club’s slow progress in the summer transfer market, telling yesterday’s press conference that the Whites’ cliff-edge compliance with the Premier League regulations ‘can’t be an excuse for everything’.
Silva once again expanded on his frustration at a lack of new arrivals to follow Issa Diop and Shane Duffy over the past week in his question and answer session with journalists at Motspur Park ahead of tonight’s trip to Arsenal. He said:
“It’s not good for us talk before a tough game, an important game for us, about the situation. But financial fair play cannot be an excuse for everything. It is taking more time than I would like.
The striker position is a good example. We are playing just with Mitro and Mitro is doing an amazing job scoring goals. He is full of confidence but looking for the bench and we don’t have even one more striker there. That is not a normal thing. ‘Why’ is a good question, but I would like to have the right answer for you but I don’t right now.”
Of the lack of replacements results in Fulham being relegated again the reason would be TC and not Marko Silva.
So Fulham board be very aware.
Why send Muniz out if the lack of strikers is the problem?
Losing Marco would be a disaster but it is looking more and more likely. You couldn’t really blame him for moving on. Shame on TK and the board !
Happens every year!!
I wish to eat more words, having been proved wrong, that no more deals will be done until the last ten minutes of the window after losing out on key Silva wishes in the meantime.
We are in danger of losing Marco because of the continually frustrating methods employed by TK – I seem to remember that Scotty P had the same problems. We need a full-time Director Of Football who knows what he is doing, not someone ‘playing with daddy’s money’. Criticism of Marco from previous clubs tends to go that he proves to be ‘a busted flush’ – I look at what he is doing for our squad: ‘Mitro will never score in The Premiership’ – ‘We’ve seen the last of Tim Ream’ – Jedi seems to be ‘on a different level this season’ (mentioned elsewhere on The Hammy End). Without a doubt, he is ‘doing the business’ and needs support from above – not lame excuses about FFP when a potential deal goes wonky. I realise that some players will not want to come to Fulham but, for example, what on earth is going on with Justin Kluivert?
