Kieron Bowie’s first senior goal in English football helped Northampton Town clinch a 3-2 win at Crawley this evening.

Fulham’s on loan Scottish forward had only been on the pitch for eighteen minutes after replacing Louis Appiere but he made a decisive impact with superb stoppage-time finish, brilliantly controlling a cross from two-goal hero Sam Hoskins, making his 300th appearance for the Cobblers, and firing emphatically into the roof of the net.

The three points lifted Northampton into third in the League Two table, level on points with early pacesetters Salford. Kevin Betsy’s Crawley, who are Fulham’s opponents in the League Cup in a week’s time, are third bottom with a single point from their first four fixtures.
