Attacking right back Neco Williams had an immediate impact upon his loan arrival from Liverpool in January 2022. The Welsh international delivered a succession of superb crosses – usually converted by Aleksandar Mitrovic – and scored the first club goals of an already impressive career in a 5-1 victory over Swansea City. He displaced regular right back Kenny Tete as the Whites coasted to the Championship title, but Fulham baulked at Liverpool’s valuation of their young defender and he joined Nottingham Forest for £18m in July 2022.
